Brooklyn Park

Brooklyn Park is the sixth most populous city in Minnesota, with approximately 81,000 people calling it home.

Located in Hennepin County, Brooklyn Park is an inviting suburb of the Twin Cities area located northwest of Minneapolis (11 miles away) and St. Paul (22 miles). The Interstate 94 and 694 highways connect the southern part of this city to the Twin Cities, while Minnesota State Highway 252 and US Highway 169 are other main arteries to and from the city.

Brooklyn Park offers a welcome respite from the non-stop hustle of the highly urbanized Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. It is nestled along the eastern banks of the Minnesota River and is a Tree City USA-certified location. In addition to offering stunning natural backdrops to its existing homes, this city still presents plenty of vacant land and farm-ready acreage.

The city was originally part of Brooklyn Township, which was established in 1852. When the southern portion of the township split off to become what today are the cities of Brooklyn Center and Crystal, the remaining territory became Brooklyn Park.

Brooklyn Park was officially incorporated as a village in 1954, and then as a city in 1969.
